The Heart Knows the Way
For over 25 years we’ve been helping people live their best lives through alignment-influenced yoga, functional movement, somatic practices, and fitness-inspired strength work.
At Yoga from the Heart, our mission is simple: We want to enhance the quality of your life through movement. We accomplish this by providing information, education and inspiration to help students move with awareness, understanding, intention, and delight.

We don’t just demonstrate.
We educate.
“Do not kill the body for the glory of the pose. Do not look at your body like a stranger… Watch it, listen to it, observe its needs, its requests, and even have fun.
To be sensitive is to be alive.”
— Vanda Scaravelli
At Yoga from the Heart, our classes are designed to do more than guide you through poses—they’re here to help you feel better in your body and more grounded in your life. Each class is thoughtfully sequenced to reduce pain, improve mobility, build strength, and enhance your overall well-being.
Our experienced teachers are approachable, knowledgeable, and committed to making yoga accessible, mindful, and safe for everybody—at every level. We don’t just demonstrate from the front of the room. Instead, we teach you how your body moves and why that matters, using clear explanations, hands-on support, and visual aids to deepen your understanding and confidence.
Students often tell us they move with less discomfort and more ease, sleep better, breathe easier, stand taller, and know more about their bodies and how they move. They leave class not just more flexible, but more centered, capable, and connected.
Whether you're looking to relieve tension, recover from injury, build resilience, or simply take better care of yourself—we’re here to support your journey. From our hearts, we can’t wait to practice with you.

Our Founder, Teachers, and Students
“The best teachers are those who have spent their lives studying and understanding the human body, the human mind, and finding ways to teach and share this wisdom.”
– Lynn Burgess
We’re honored to witness small and meaningful shifts in our students. As pain or stress recede, a relaxed strength and balance settles in. We love seeing the way dedicated practice enhances our students’ lives. At Yoga from the Heart, we don’t just celebrate your accomplishments, we celebrate your efforts and study.
From our hearts, we’re looking forward to practicing with you.
Lynn Burgess, Founder & Owner
At Yoga from the Heart, students come for the yoga—but stay because of Lynn Burgess. With decades of experience, Lynn offers more than just instruction; she offers transformation. Her alignment-based, accessible teaching style helps students build strength, increase flexibility, relieve pain, and move with greater confidence and ease.
Lynn’s classes are rooted in a deep understanding of anatomy and a compassionate approach that meets each student where they are. Her thoughtful guidance helps people feel more connected to their bodies, more at peace in their minds, and more resilient in their daily lives. Many students say they feel better—physically and emotionally—than they ever have before.
Our Teachers
Katie has been calling Yoga from the Heart her home away from home since 2013, when she was 16. After one passage through the studio’s beloved purple door, Katie knew that she’d be learning from Lynn and Steve and laughing on the yoga mat for thousands of classes to come!
Now, years later, Katie is so grateful and excited to begin teaching and sharing her endless love of yoga at what she calls, “the most special place on earth.” In 2022, Katie completed her 200 Hour teacher training at Yoga from the Heart.
When she’s not at Yoga from the Heart, you can find Katie teaching Spanish at a local elementary school or hanging by the beach with her family and friends. Join her for a class to find a joyful, sweet escape that will allow you to enter back into the world feeling and spreading all of the peace, love, and light that yoga has offered you.
Katie Hebda
Jessica grew up on a military base in Seoul, Korea where she had her first yoga class in 2005. In 2010, she moved to Orlando, Florida to complete her Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Central Florida, indicative of her lifelong pursuit to help and serve others in any capacity. Dabbling in yoga classes here and there during her pre- and post-Uni years, she decided to make the move to learn more about yoga, earning her 200-hour YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) in 2019 in Boca Raton, Florida.
It wasn’t until Jessica met Lynn Burgess that she found a style of yoga to inspire her to look at the practice differently. Moving to Sarasota in 2023, she began her journey with Yoga from the Heart, getting involved in classes, educational training, and teacher assistance. She is now teaching at the studio that fills her heart and soul with joy, and she hopes it will do the same for you!

For Lifelong Students
Our students want to learn. They want to be comfortable with movement, at home in their bodies, and to gain understanding of how that benefits every aspect of their lives. They understand that, while yoga is excellent exercise, it is something to be continually practiced. Not with the goal of perfection – whatever that is – but with the aim of true self-care: ongoing maintenance of the body and soul.
Here are some kind words our community of students have shared:
